As Fertilizer Prices Are On The Rise, Consider These Alternatives
Soft Rock Phosphate
With the current prices of commercial fertilizers on the increase, have you considered natural inputs like Soft Rock Phosphate? Besides the phosphate, Soft Rock is also a pretty good supplier of Silicon, it has a decent amount of Boron in it, and then a whole bunch of other trace minerals, about 60 trace minerals all together. And we find it to be an absolute critical ingredient in building soil phosphorus levels for organics. And any time the goal is quality, soft rock phosphate should be part of what is used to build and maintain soil phosphate levels. If you would like more information or a delivered price just send us an email with your zip code and we can get that for you.
Chilean Nitrate an excellent Nitrogen source
Unlike other Nitrogen sources, Nitrate Nitrogen is readily available for plant uptake, helping improve nutrient efficiency while supporting healthy crop growth throughout the season. Natural Chilean Sodium Nitrate fertilizer containing 15% Nitrate Nitrogen and 2% Potassium, provides reliable nutrition precisely when your crops need it. This is immediately available Nitrogen and it is 100% water-soluble. An excellent source of natural Nitrate for organic farming. Give your crops the Nitrogen they can use immediately. If you would like more information or a delivered price just send us your zip code and tell us what you need.
Alternative Sulfur options
One of the most dramatic shifts in the market has been the massive surge in elemental Sulfur pricing. Because Sulfur is converted to Sulfuric Acid—a critical input in the production of major fertilizer products—this increase is driving up costs across the broader crop nutrition industry. Here are a couple of excellent options to get the Sulfur you need along with other inputs. Try this: Ag Granular SOP (Sulfate of Potash) 0-0-50-17S or water soluble SOP which is more like 0-0-52-18S. These two products are available for both conventional and organic growers. Need a delivered price? Just send us your zip code and tell us what you are looking for.
PS: We have been told that SOP is currently very tight and may be even more scarce come Oct-Nov...there may also be a possible price increase in Oct. 2026. Stock up now if you can.
New products you may want to check out
We would also like to introduce new products such as an 11-0-0-75S and another new product that is a 3-12-0. If you are interested ask for more info and we will email you with the details. These are good alternatives to sulfur and phosphate as well as urea at prices that are reasonable.
Your attention please
Please note: Our source of Chilean Nitrate (15-0-2) will be updating their systems and will therefore be offline for a time starting Sept. 28th and will not be online again for orders until some time in mid-October 2026 (subject to change). Please place any orders you may need for Chilean Nitrate right away or wait til some time in late October or early November to order. As always, send us an email with your zip code and we will try to get you a delivered price on the product you are needing if we can.
May you have a great harvest this Fall,
Gary
